I qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and since then, I have practised exclusively in family law. I joined Porter Dodson in May 2019 having trained and practiced with another local firm for 11 years. I am an accredited specialist member of Resolution in complex financial remedies and private children law.
I work with individuals to understand their needs and objectives. I specialise in all areas of private family law and can assist clients with relationship planning, separation and divorce, resolving finances on divorce or issues surrounding child arrangements. Many of my clients have complex finances, including landowners, farmers, business owners, and public sector workers.
I act for non-married couples resolving property disputes arising on separation. I seek to be able to resolve all matters amicably, however in some cases Court proceedings are unavoidable. In those situations, I can assist clients with civil claims under TOLATA.
I also assist the conveyancing team when parties are purchasing a property with unequal contributions. I prepare a document called a Declaration of Trust, which is unique to the client’s circumstances and ensures that their original and future contributions are protected.
I provide a supportive but realistic approach to family matters. I take the time to listen to my clients to enable me to understand their circumstances. I seek to achieve the best outcome for my clients and their family.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family. Having grown up on a farm I love animals, and I am lucky that my husband and children also share that love. We spend our spare time caring for our small flock of sheep and walking our sprocker spaniel.
